Biography
Zainnab Al Kurdi, born on the 28th of June 1995, is a Jordanian pianist currently
studying at the Ahliyyah School for Girls. She’s been taking piano lessons since she was
5 years old with her mother’s support which encouraged her to take lessons and become
the talented pianist she is today. Family and friends had a great impact on the persistence
of this talent. Zainnab started taking lessons in kindergarten at her school and continued
taking private lessons with a great teacher; Ms. Suzanna Yassaian.
Zainnab stopped playing piano in 2008 for almost a year. After this gap, Zainnab got
back to playing piano and practiced with her teacher to sit for 3rd grade’s exam. After
putting her hard effort and practicing daily, Zainnab got a distinction which encouraged
her to skip grade 4 and do grade 5. In less than two years Zainnab rose again and did
grade 5 both theory and practical.
Zainnab has participated in 2 Shine talent shows at her school run by Zain’s company and
won both. She won in year 2011 for playing a Spanish piece called Malaguena. Recently
in year 2011, Zainnab won in Shine’s competition again at her school for playing One
Man’s dream by Yanni.
Zainnab participated in a competition by Plansmania called “what’s your talent?” to
expose her talent people she knows and see what they think of her. After getting to the
top 5 finalists, Zainnab won first place and got an iPad 2. Her piece got more than 300
likes.
She is a level 6 in piano now and willing to finish all 8 grades.
Zainnab’s aim is to become a high-degree great pianist.
